Hi there. I have a question for you. Personally, I am pro-choice supporting abortion as a last resort, but I respect your difference in opinion. I'm curious as to what your stance, as someone who is religious, on abstinence only education versus a more "whole" sexual education (covering different types of birth control i.e. the Pill, condoms, etc.). As someone who finds abortion wrong, are you in support of educating about all types of birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancy?

I don’t have a problem with any contraception that actually prevents conception and does not induce abortion. Condoms are an example of this.

I don’t have a problem with people learning about these forms of contraception either, but we have to make sure that parents can control what their children hear. So if you’re suggesting teaching contraception in school, the parents have to be able to choose an alternate activity for their kids.

And of course, everyone should be taught that abstinence is the most effective way to avoid pregnancy and STDs.

Please help!! For the last month, I've had horrible cramping and no period for 6 weeks. I took a pregnancy test, and I am. Here's the problem: I have a IUD. We went to the doctor, who said that because of how the IUD has shifted, continuing the pregnancy means almost certain uterine rupture and miscarrage (and possibly infertility or even death). I got the IUD so we wouldn't have children until we were ready, but I don't want to kill my baby! My husband says abort. What should I do? Thank you!

I’m not a doctor. If your doctor says your life is in danger, and there is no chance of delivering the baby in time, then you shouldn’t feel bad because you were forced to choose between one death or two deaths.

I would also suggest you turn to any family members or your church family for support in this difficult time. Many women have miscarriages, and they can be very supportive.

I hope everything turns out okay for you and your baby, and I’ll be praying for you.

That post was sarcastic and referring to the fact that pro-choicers claim that abortion should be legal because abortion is dangerous to women if it is illegal.

The entire point is that rape should be illegal and so should abortion.

Pro-choicers argue that abortion should be legal because women allegedly hurt themselves getting abortions when they’re illegal.

But what about those girls that were raped and got pregnant? Why should we force them to keep the thing that will remind them of the rape for the rest of their lives? Or If keeping the child would kill the mother and the child, and abortion was the only way at least one of them could survive?

I’ve already answered all of these questions several times before.

1) The circumstances in which a child was conceived do not make it acceptable to murder the child. It’s not the child’s fault its father is a rapist, and it shouldn’t be punished for its father’s crimes.

2) Adoption is always an option. The women who have been raped deserve love, support, and to be taken care of until they can give birth and let someone else give their child a loving home. They don’t ever have to see the child again, and the child will be given everything it needs by people who can and want to provide for it.

3) Abortion for medical reasons is sad, but necessary if the mother will die if she stays pregnant.
